Wanna go home right now and find a metal measuring tape lying around! This is a fantastic idea. I can already see these little bags inhabiting the inside of my large handbag. Great idea for organizing the mess inside! Thank you, ladies. I'll tweet this link, if thats OK with you.

Question---I thought the tape numbers should face out ? That is how I have made previous bags. What is your thought on this?
1 reply · active 474 weeks ago
yes the tape measure concave should be toward the lining and the numbers toward the outer fabric of the bag for it to snap.
doesnt this allow for the measuring tape to fall up and in between lining and body?

Hi Audrey!
If you check out the step that sates "Turn bag inside out and top stitch around entire casing, careful not to catch measuring tape with your needle" and the accompanying photo you'll see that you are stitching through all the layers, creating a casing that snugly holds the measuring tape in place. I hope this helps clarify the tutorial for you! Thanks for stopping by and posting your question!
